Christiana Defensive Pistol Club

 As an Accredited Firearms Instructor with over 40 years of experience in pistol competency, practical shooting, and participation in various shooting disciplines, he recognized the importance of empowering individuals to handle firearms with confidence and skill in potentially life-threatening situations.

The club’s mission was – and still is – grounded in providing ordinary people with the necessary tools to protect their families, homes, and communities.

A small but loyal following had grown around the Handgun shooting discipline and the Club was opened with nine members, with shoots taking place on the Welkom Shooting Range in Christiana, with the home range born out of a deserted mine dump.

Today we have over 50 members who participate in robust training in a community-focused environment at the Club.

Our focus is on helping members build confidence, sharpen their firearm handling skills, and gain the knowledge needed for defensive situations.

We welcome everyone, from the curious to the experienced professionals, as well as spouses and children, making us a truly inclusive club.

Our training accommodates members’ needs with options for one-on-one or group sessions, along with advanced training programs for beginners. Safety is our top priority, and we help members develop muscle memory, skill and precision.

CTDPC holds ten club shoots each year, scheduled and published a year in advance, every five weeks, members gather for these events, with at least one shoot each year featuring a unique theme to add an element of fun —always a highlight for participants. We also arrange club social events. 

Our club facilities include a versatile range with seven bays of varying sizes, from 20 to 50 meters in length and 3 to 12 meters in width. We have a clubhouse and ablution facilities.

Additionally, we provide a range of stands, posts, targets, and props to enrich members’ training experience.

At CTDPC, we combine skill development, safety, and community to offer a well-rounded, enjoyable shooting experience for all members under the supervision of an ample amount of experienced Safety Officers.
